It also a good practice to designate FL or Florida on your credential to show the distinction as a Florida recipient as other states may have their own program or may only recognize CPFO program, the national GFOA designation.

A. No. External auditors of governmental entities employed by non-governmental entities, i.e., CPA firms, IRS auditors of individuals, internships, and trainees, clerical or non-technical positions do not provide the appropriate experience to fulfill the requirements for a CGFO candidate.

A. Yes. A certificate holder may earn up to 10 CPE hours for professional involvement within a reporting period as follows:

  • Five (5) CPE credits per year are earned for serving as either a FGFOA or GFOA officer, director, or committee chair, or a local chapter president
